A home for writing and creativity exercises

New source for writers’ exercises

In the past I’ve posted writers’ exercises on my old blog as well as the Burning Void itself. When I created my new blog I decided to separate out the writers’ exercises into their own place where I can semi-regularly post them and you can find them easily.

Sharing results: Please feel free to post links to your exercise results in the comments sections; I ask that you not put the results themselves in unless they’re only a couple of paragraphs long. Only share if your results are suitable for a teens-and-older audience; no adults-only material.

Judgment: I’m not going to critique or judge your piece. The point of an exercise is to loosen up, let go, and allow the inspiration to come without judgment; critique undercuts that purpose. Critique has its place, but a random inspirational exercise isn’t it! I also ask that you not use the comments areas to judge others’ work.

Comments: Moderation is turned on for comments. Please no flames, no commercial spam, etc. Feel free to share links to other sites with writers’ exercises, or to offer your own suggested variations on the presented exercises.

Later today I’ll post the first exercise.
