They are, hands-down, amazing books. It’s been years since I first read her books and I still consider her one of THE best writers whose work I’ve ever read. But yeah, I can easily believe that a lot of people would dislike the books for some of the topics delved into. I hope you’ll come back and say what you thought of them after reading them!

Thanks for an interesting review. I’ve been considering Bishop’s books but I’ve seen some mixed reviews about them. No wonder if her books contain such “heavy” themes! I’ve added them to my to-buy-list.
