I must say my expirience with exactly this coffee maker is negative one. I bought this KitchenAid 10-cup coffee maker for my "in-laws" ( i mean parents of my partner) for Christmas 2006. They loved that, loved the color -Empire Red, they we're very happy with this gift. After about 6 months they broke caraffe so i did order replacement for them thru Lowe's.It came with all right information for the model, Kitchen Aid logo. And that was the time when the trouble started. The carafe did not push the back arm strong enough so this "pause and pour" system just didn't work. Coffee was spilling all over countertop instead nicely dripping into the caraffe. I found out about it pretty late but just recently i called Kitchen Aid customer support. And voila! Out of warranty out of everything. "Pause and pour" is internal part so no any repair no any exchange of the part is possible. Only thing they offer me was some "special" price for 14 cup coffee maker. Hm..$89.99 is that special after i know by now the first coffeemaker is just trash after couple months?
Now i will never know if they make anything good because..yes...you guessed it, i will never buy this brand. Now i feel sad...and soon i will buy another coffeemaker for my coffee loving in-laws. Krups perhaps?
