Stephanie: Me too. I love being pleasantly surprised, and I love enjoying new experiences! Rekya: It's well worth it! Literary Feline: My husband had some great history teachers, and as a result loves the subject. I wish I could have had his teachers! Stephanie: I certainly never would have picked it up for myself, but I'm so glad I read it, and once I got into it I was absolutely riveted.

I will definitely have to add this one to my wishlist. Thanks for the review, Heather. I was fortunate to have several good history teachers throughout the years, although some could have easily turned me against the subject if I hadn’t had the others to get me back on the right path. I’ve discovered that I especially like learning history through personal stories, which isn’t something I got much in the classroom.

Beautiful review. I just love it when I read a book that I normally wouldn’t ever consider reading and find that I am totally blown away.
