I've read books where the author tried to be over-the-top deliberately but the end result failed, IMO (you need to be a very good writer to pull it off). I keep meaning to continue the series but so far I have not. I did really enjoy NAKED IN DEATH. Loved Eve and who wouldn't love Roarke (wow!). Maybe wil get to GLORY IN DEATH sometime this spring.
