About Errant Dreams Reviews
Heather and Jeffrey review books of all kinds as well as kitchenware. Jeffrey is our technical book reviewer, and he occasionally tackles RPG books as well; he’s a software guy by trade. Heather reviews just about everything, including cookbooks, kitchenware, fiction, and creativity/writing books; she co-authored 14 books while freelancing for the RPG industry some time ago. If you’d like us to consider taking a review copy of your book, please read obtaining a review and email us at support (at) the errantdreams.com address. You can follow notifications of new reviews, as well as chat with Heather, on Twitter.
As of Summer 2009 we have an additional reviewer. Rene says of herself: “I enjoy reading just about anything, but my special interests are Ancient Egypt and Cleopatra. Some of my favorite books include Frank Herbert’s Dune, Margaret George’s The Memoirs of Cleopatra, and Jacqueline Carey’s Kushiel’s Dart series. My other hobbies include making jewelry and spending time with my husband and cat.”
Please note that we promise an honest review of your book or item, not necessarily a positive one. We are very forthright about our opinions, which can range from enthusiastic to harsh. We believe it’s the balance of opinion and information that makes our reviews useful—opinions make a review interesting to read, while we strive to include enough information to allow a reader to make her own independent decisions based on her needs and preferences rather than ours. We have on many occasions seen evidence that even our “negative” reviews provided the information necessary for someone to decide to buy that product. We’re here to help people make up their own minds, not convince them of what we think.
After posting reviews here, we often post shortened versions at Epinions.com, Amazon.com, and occasionally LibraryThing.
Formerly Burning Void Reviews. We have received review items from companies as diverse as Lodge Cookware, Cuisipro, Microplane, Ten Speed Press, F&W Publications/Writer’s Digest Books, Penguin Group, and many more.
