"Dessert Circus at Home," by Jacques Torres

Jacques brings you professional-level pastries of great beauty and flavor, but this book was designed for the home cook, not a pastry chef. While a beginning cook probably won’t want to dive right in to the puff pastry, there’s plenty in here that even the very occasional baker will feel comfortable making.

"Classic Home Desserts," by Richard Sax

With this much variation of recipe you won’t like everything you find. Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Processor

Just like the old Mini-Prep, this one has a very handy use: small amounts of salad dressing or ingredients can be tough to process in a huge food processor, and who wants to clean all that real estate for six basil leaves? The Mini-Prep plus will handle small amounts of foods just wonderfully.
