Rela… Relex… RELAXATION!
My husband is starting his new job. Since this means he won’t have 2+ hours of commuting every day now, we’re finally–no really this time–getting back to the South Beach Diet. We’re also finally getting back to the gym.
In a lot of ways his previous job was great, and any discussion of job content certainly isn’t my purview. But I’m so grateful that he should have more normal hours now and a MUCH shorter commute. It’s still the tech industry so he’s bound to have some long nights, particularly during crunch times, but it shouldn’t be as unpredictable and frequent. It’s really hard to do any cooking (or any other hobby), not to mention go to the gym, when you literally never know from day to day when you’re getting home.
We got up early this morning because we aren’t used to sleeping in, but this means we were up a little before six, not shortly after four. We got to have a relaxed morning for the first time in ages. We had an omelet, with leftover guacamole salsa from last night’s cooking (yes, cooking!) and Canadian bacon. We started some laundry and packed a nice South-Beachy lunch to go to the office with him (salad, hummus, guacamole salsa, baby carrots, cheeses, water). I’m having my morning coffee and not feeling like I need a nap. Now we’re hanging out and I’m writing a blog entry while he reads–READS! And yes, it’s fiction. A book purely for pleasure.
Tonight we plan to go to the gym and slowly ramp up our exercising again.
I have so much I want to work on today–I just want to work out another writer’s exercise or two from “The 3 A.M. Epiphany” before I review the book. I have a short fiction ebook parody I want to read & review. I want to work some more with Storyweaver so I can get closer to reviewing it. I have two other short horror ebooks I want to read & review. Of course I want to move a few more reviews over to the reviews blog–maybe finish out the cooking appliances section–and post a new writers’ exercise. But I don’t feel overwhelmed and tired; I feel excited. Now I just need to figure out an order to these things.
Have a great day folks. I’m off to be productive.
Oh, and, as though anyone’s going to be surprised to see this link here: WoW Guild Pulls Cancer Victim from Financial Fire (the sappy story of the morning, found on FARK).
