We’re in the process of importing the blogs over to the new site. We’ve imported the posts, but haven’t yet prettied everything up enough to put in the redirects. Whooo, I posted my review of The Career Guide for Creative and Unconventional People by Carol Eikleberry, PhD. It uses the Holland Codes as a guide to help you find a creative career that works for you–but it has plenty to work with beyond that as well.

I’m discovering just how much work it is to change over your email address after having the same one for… umm, 7 years? 10 years? Something like that. Especially since I’m not nearly as good as I should be about keeping up with my email.

We’ve posted what I’d call the “draft” version of the new site: ErrantDreams.com. I call it a draft because we have yet to move several key things over: the links directory, the blogs, and a few such things. Also, while it looks great in Firefox and Safari as far as we can tell, and it’s certainly usable in MSIE, it doesn’t look quite right in MSIE yet.

I hate Windows.
I really do. I’ve used it before on regular PCs, and I don’t understand how so many people can take its rate of bugs, rate of crashes and vulnerability to viruses and the like as “normal” and “okay.” I’ve used a powerbook for five years now. No viruses (just using the standard included firewall, normal security settings on mail and firefox); I never had to buy a separate security program. Only rare, occasional crashes. I can leave it up for literally weeks without turning it off and it won’t die during that time.
When I was working on reviewing Heidi Swanson’s Super Natural Cooking, one of the things I looked forward to was trying out some of the natural, non-super-processed sweeteners out there. After all, they often have slightly lower glycemic indexes (in the case of one or two, much lower!) and this is great news for us sugar addicts who are at risk of diabetes due to family history and bad eating habits (particularly those of us who can’t stand artificial sweeteners).

We didn’t set out to make infant wear when we started making gamer wear. We just naturally included the designs on most of the available items at cafepress–including infant wear–because you never know what folks will want to buy. And lately it seems they’re buying gamer-wear for their kids.

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was working on reviewing Heidi Swanson’s cookbook, “Super Natural Foods.” Unfortunately it took a little time, because I needed a good solid weekend free for shopping and cooking, and I didn’t get one of those until this past weekend. Now the reivew of “Super Natural Cooking” is finally up!
