Cynthia: I didn't notice that, but I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to movies. :)

I saw Bourne Ultimatum and while I enjoyed the movie-making process of the film, meaning the acting, characters, pace etc., I was not impressed with the story line itself. It had great momentum at the beginning but then just seemed to end almost anti-climatic. That's just my opinion, I'm not a movie critic or reviewer. I enjoyed the first 2 movies better.

Carl: There's just something so heart-poundingly tense about a movie that feels that 'real.' I have to hand it to the folks who made the Bourne movies for keeping them so consistently high-quality; it seems like so many other series start to go downhill after an initial success like that.

To be fair, I'm not nearly as good a judge of movies as I am of books, which is why I never review them. :D I tend to enjoy most of them regardless of whether they're "good" or not. But I do think most of the negative comments I've heard regarding Invasion could be attributed to what did appear to me to be more an editing problem than a story problem. Also, it's true the "message" of the movie was a bit heavy-handed, but since it was somewhat old-style SF being based on "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," that's kind of a standard feature. Thus I'm willing to see it as a stylistic thing.

So glad you enjoyed Bourne. It was great, wasn't it? I agree with your thoughts, I too like the highly stylized movies, but films like this are better with their more 'realistic' brutality and grit.

Glad to hear Invasion isn't bad. It bombed at the box office this weekend and I read some stuff about in house difficulties that may have resulted in some of the poor editing in places that you mention. I really want to see it simply because of my undying devotion to Nicole Kidman! ;)
