Bellezza: She truly thought outside of the box, and that's something some folks can never appreciate.

Jezebeau: Aye, I think everyone I know has read at least 'A Wrinkle in Time,' and usually some of her others, too.

Bildo: Indeed.

I was sad to hear about this one. Surprised, too, having stumbled across it on Friday, looking her up in the Wikipedia doing research on some of my childhood favourites. Fantasy or not, the 'Wrinkle in Time' & sequels had a very intellectual feel to them that appealed to me when I was younger.

I had the opportunity of hearing her speak at Wheaton College in the late 80's. (That was where the picture was taken of us on my blog.) Someone actually heckled her about her lack of Christianity, which just shows how ignorant this person was.

It has always been to my great shame that I didn't stand up and refute those horrible comments. Being 25 was no excuse. I hope Madeleine forgives me for just sitting in shock.

She has illuminated so many Biblical principles in her work. In my opnion, it takes a true intellectual to appreciate her, one who can think outside of the box as she was so adept at doing.
