Identity Theft Sucks

Well, I suppose we should be grateful that whoever-it-was just ran up a $1600 phone bill in my husband’s name. Or I suppose, that’s all we’ve found out about so far. It apparently happened 2-3 years ago, and we’re just now getting the collection notice. Fingers crossed that we can get all this worked out easily. Police reports and all that will be involved. Urgh.

Man that sucks, hope everything gets sorted out!

Thank you! Mostly it’s just frustrating, and a real time sink. =/

Oh no! I hope that’s all too, Heather, and that you are able to get it all straightened out. Identity theft leaves behind a big mess that the victims are left to untangle.

Feline: Thank you. So far it’s looking like it’ll be a hassle, but it’ll work out okay. I’m just worried that this one bill might not be everything.

ugh -that stinks! We signed up for an online service that allows you to check your credit report constantly and it also monitors your name online - apparently people sell these things. Just a thought.

Tara: LifeLock, by chance? We immediately signed up for the same thing.
