Acronyms That Don’t Exist But Should…
Cian posted YATS earlier (yet another time sink), I’m fairly certain that with almost no effort whatsoever we can populate an entire dictionary with similar acronyms and phrases to describe our lives. Anyone up to the challenge?

Who is this Cain person? I believe I met him at Our first Curia.
For acronyms, there is the ubiquitous TLA [1] but I can hardly claim to have invented that one. The problem is, I tend to make them up on the spot, although some persist. YDKDY [2] isn’t quite an acronym, though it has a pronunciation. SSDD is widely known and often applies. SNAFU [4] and FUBAR [5] are familiar, but happily not part of my everyday life any more.
Since the invented ones tend to be situational, I am drawing a blank. What we need is to go raiding, and have something that records our chat. We can come up with more good stuff in a group as the ideas bounce around. Besdies, I need to get ready for 12th Night.
I am sure I will add to this later, once I wake up.
[1] TLA (three letter acronym / agency)
[2] YDKDY (You Don’t Know, Do You)
[3] Same Stuff, Different Day
[4] Situation Normal
[5] Beyond All Recognition

In my world “Yet Another X” is rather common. YACC (Yet Another Compiler Compiler) being source, of course.
While “PBCAK” (Problem between Chair and Keyboard) is common in geekdom, I coined a varient for my lady wife at her work “PBCAR” (Problem between couch and remote)

I have often thought that many of the people I see being asked to remove the knife from their carry-on, or being told to check their second, third, and fourth bags were TSTT. (Too stupid to travel).

Around the office we’ve used RIP — Retired in Place — to describe people who still show up to work and collect a paycheck even though they no longer do anything useful or helpful.
