Perhaps the funniest part of this for me is that apparently I’ve not yet reached the latest century. I haven’t been through a metal detector since 9/11, and have yet to experience all of these horrid changes. I dread the day when I’ll have to.

I don’t go into Government building more than 6 times a year and I know enough to move every thing that will set off the alarm to one pocket so it’s easy to dump out in to the Tupperware bowl.

Of course it doesn’t matter because my combat boots are going to set off the alarm, or at least they should. I get real jumpy when they don’t, on the principle that if they don’t find that much metal else are they missing.
