The Cuisipro 4-piece mixing bowl set includes the following sizes: 1.5 quart, 3 quart, 5 quart, and 8 quart. This is a wider range of sizes than most nested sets of mixing bowls, which I find incredibly useful. I have yet to try a recipe for which the 8 quart wasn’t adequately large, and the 1.5 quart is perfect for small sauces or piles of ingredients.

The bowls are made of 18/10 satin-finish stainless steel. They’re dishwasher-safe, and because of the way they’re shaped I can fit all but the largest on the top rack of our dishwasher (I can fit several in at a time, too, which is nice).

They’re quite sturdy and a bit heavy, which makes them less likely to skitter around your counter if you aren’t holding onto them tightly. They also aren’t going to break if you drop them. But most interestingly in my experience, the smooth finish makes it easier to mix things and easier to clean the bowls. Doughs come together quickly without as much sticking to the bowl. Sticky things wash off of the surface with ease.

The sides are high, making it easy to avoid spilling and splashing things if you have to be a bit vigorous with a whisk. The bottoms are rounded, which works particularly well with whisks and flexible spatulas to make sure you get every last bit of your ingredients incorporated. It also allows you to easily tilt the bowls on your counter to work with them.

In fact, I only have two, very minor, complaints. One is that the “pouring spouts” are very shallow, which makes them less than ideal. They’ll work for pouring things into other wide-mouth things, but they won’t help you any if you need to pour into something on the narrow side.

The second complaint is that the company put stickers on the inside of the bottoms of the bowls. Most of the stickers came off easily, but we’re still scraping bits of sticker off of the bottom of one bowl.

These bowls are sturdy, they’re large, and they make it easy to avoid splatters. That much is easy to tell from looking at them. What surprised me was how much of a difference the smooth surface and rounded base made in how easy it was to mix ingredients together and clean the bowls.

The Cuisipro steel mixing bowls are gorgeous as well as surprisingly useful. These will make a beautiful addition to your kitchen.
